My Background

Patrycja Czyszczon

My counselling journey began as a volunteer with Age UK, where I supported middle-aged and older adults facing grief, bereavement, stress, anxiety, and depression. I now also volunteer with Trafford Carers, offering emotional support to those caring for loved ones through difficult and demanding times.

In my private practice, I work with adults of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds, integrating Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to provide both empathetic support and practical tools for managing life’s challenges.

My Approach

Person-Centered Approach

The Person-Centred Approach is a humanistic form of therapy that focuses on creating a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space.

As a therapist, I offer warmth, empathy, and genuine understanding to help you feel truly heard and valued. This approach believes that you are the expert in your own life, and with the right support, you have the inner resources to grow, heal, and move forward at your own pace.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, goal-focused therapy that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It involves working together to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier ways of thinking, and build practical coping tools.

The aim is to support you in managing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt more effectively and to empower you to create meaningful and lasting change.

Starting Your Journey

Your First Steps in Therapy

Building a trusting relationship is key to meaningful therapy.

Rather than offering advice or directing your choices, I'll work alongside you to support your self-exploration and growth. Therapy is most effective when built on mutual trust, respect, and commitment. My aim is to create a space where you feel empowered to take ownership of your journey, engage fully in the process, and make the most of each session.

To help you decide if I’m the right fit, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation where we can talk through what you’re looking for and answer any questions you may have. If you don’t feel I’m the right counsellor for you, I’ll be happy to suggest other professionals or services that may better meet your needs.

If we decide to move forward, our first session will focus on understanding where you are right now, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to gain. I’ll also guide you through our working agreement, including confidentiality and how sessions will be structured.

If you’re ready to take the next step or simply want to find out more, feel free to get in touch—I’d be happy to hear from you.
